Calia has just found out that her entire college fund has been drained and she’s furious. She knows exactly who has done it… Her mother. This same mother that all of her friends think is dead. So during summer break with no where else to go and no money she goes back to her hometown to confront her mother.

5 WTF OMG FREAKING BRILLIANT stars!

What a roller coaster ride that one just put me through. From the very first chapter you are like “what happens, what happens what happens?”

This one I thought I had nailed the plot in the end but BAM! It changed and I was left in a heap of tears and OMGs.

My Review

Rachel is an eighteen year old with a bright future ahead of her. She has an awesome boyfriend, Matt and is about to graduate high school and move out to college to be a journalist. Her friends gather one last time at their local hangout. Until a tragic accident leaves Jimmy dead and Rachel in the hospital with a concussion and a horrific facial scar.

Fast forward five years. Rachel is coming back to her hometown for her friend’s wedding. She meets her friends again to celebrate. Matt and her broke up years before and she is suffering debilitated headaches that she tries to hide from everyone. She soon finds herself depressed and at the grave of her beloved childhood friend Jimmy. She passes out only to wake up in the hospital. Nothing is the same, everyone is changed. Matt is now her fiance and Jimmy is still alive. She has her dream job and her face is scar free.

She tries to make sense of what is real and what is not. She and Jimmy go on a truth mission in London where she is left with the feeling she is more alone and lost than she thought.

Her relationship with Matt is strained and her relationship with Jimmy is getting stronger. Who will she choose or will she wake up one day and it all be back the way it was?

Loved the idea for this book but I found the pace to be off. At times I was extremely bored and others I was racing to read the next page.

Abigal has a huge crush on her best friend Derick until one day they share a kiss and then he completely ignores her for three months. She is heartbroken and confused.

He shows up on her doorstep one night and she literally slams the door in his face (good for her!)

After that the story gets a little crazy. After another knock on the door, whom she thinks is Derick again, she finds a strange man that kidnaps her and stuffs her in the truck. She is recused by Derick himself and her childhood friend Mark.

Secrets get told and she discovers that she is the last living Guardian. A race of supernatural beings from Kaloan, that protect human kind from evil. She also discovers that Derick is a Kalonan and that they both posses abilities.

Derick’s parents give her a magical book on the history of Kalona. They fleed their home and relocate to Florida where they consider it a safe zone. Only to find that they are not safe at all and everyone that they love is in jeopardy.

Together with the help of friends they try to fight evil and decode from the truth and lies that the book is telling them.

If you haven’t read Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski. YOU MUST add this book to your must read list!

This is my all time favorite book.

I rate this book a solid 4 stars!!!!

He was determined to fight for life, destroy the Hara-Kirs, and survive the rest of the year of high school. He didn’t know what was in store for him, but he suspected the second half would be as worst as the first. But it didn’t matter. Calloway would never give up. That wasn’t an option.

This book surprised me. I was like WOW I could not put it down! From the beginning it was suspenseful and the author did an excellent job at character development. I felt like I knew everyone one of the main characters on a personal level.

MY REVIEW

Story starts out with Calloway. A 17 year old boy that lives with his Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. Money is tight as the family manages to barely scrap by. His father passed and left behind a orb that only glows when he squeezes it and a lock picker that can pick any lock along with instructions on the locations of a sacred ancient book, the Kirin. The book details the Anti life and the demons that try to steal your essence, the Hara-Kirs.

With help from his cousin Breccan and friend Easton they join together to decode the book and fight the evil that threatens everyone in existence. Meanwhile learning that Easton’s sister, Weston (I know cool names right?) is fighting to stop the same evil in a secret society called the White Wing.”

Mix that with a lot of high school drama, secret crushes and kick ass suspense, you have yourself one hell of a read.

OK I JUST HAVE TO VENT A MOMENT. You ever get a really good review typed out and BAM you accidentally click off the page….grrrrrrr soooo frustrated right now. SO I’m going to attempt to rewrite it but 😦 I lost some of my awesomeness by waiting and NOW I HAVE TO PEE!

ANYWAY I gave this book a solid 4 THIS GIRL IS BAD ASS AND A LITTLE RECKLESS STARS!

Move over Sasha Fierce bring in Izabel!

Strong, stubborn and a little foolish. She is however no match for Victor. Cool, calm, mysterious. Together they are amazeballs.

BUT!!!! Fredrick….*swoon* I knew I liked him from the first page. The way Jessica describes him made me instantly think of a Ian Somerhalder by his cocky, confident personality and his crystal blue eyes.

Ok back to the review. Sarai aka “Izabel” is doing her damnedest to move on with her life. She as a normal job, a normal friend and a normal boyfriend. Only thing is every time she is with said boyfriend she thinks about Victor.

She is still a little demented (ok a lot) over the whole kidnapped as a kid thing as well as letting the scumbag Hamburg live so she tricks her friends into going to California for a “vacation.” Little do they know she is going so she can kill Hamburg.

Let’s just say that she didn’t quite get what she wanted and in return people she cared about got hurt.

Her life is now in danger and Victor waltzes back in to save the day. Instant sparks fly between the two but they are two bull headed to tell the other how they feel.

Together they work out a plan to finally end Hamburg but she has to follow Victor’s orders while doing so. And you know how well she listens lol.

Not going to spoil it for you but the ending has a major twist that I was like….

HOLY HOT DAMN!!!! EPIC! 5 BIZILLION TRILLION STARS!!!!!!!!!!

Javier, Camden and Ellie are (somewhat) working together to get Ellie’s uncle Gus and her mother out of the clutches of Travis and his men.

Ellie doesn’t trust Javier (finally) and realizes her love for Camden is just as strong as it ever was but she fears that it is too late for them.

” I love you Camden. I love you so damn fucking much and it’s so right and it’s so wrong because people are dying, we’re almost dying and Gus is out there and my mother and we can’t trust anybody and all I can think about is you. All I can think about is how much I love you and how badly I fucked everything up and I don’t deserve you but I need you.” I made a fist with my hands and pounded it against his chest, hard, my tears flowing. “I fucking need you and I need you to forgive me. I need that more than anything in the world! I need you to make me good.”

This book had so many twist and action that I was literally on the edge of my seat at times and openly crying at others.

Left. Me. Speechless.

Here’s the thing about being alone. You’re not. Because you have demons with you.

My favorite out of all the books in this series but the only thing it left me wondering what actually happened to Javier in the end…hmmm.

Sigh….I had high hopes for this one and have read many of Addison’s books…but alas I give it a 2

Just so predictable and come oh what man acts and talks that way???? He was almost whiny. I happen to be a fan of Addison’s lengthy adjective analogies. They are down right poetic, perplexing and sometimes corny but this book I found her talking wwwwwaaaayyy out there just to fill pages.

BUT the humor I could have given it a ten! There were times I would be reading in public and literally laugh out loud and then have to look around and think *oops*.

“You’re on a road show with your penis, and trust me, I’m the last person who wants to get in your way. But I’m telling you, Operation Occupy My Vagina is a no-go for the evening.”

A loud scratching comes from the wall — and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, IT’S TRAMPLING IN THIS DIRECTION!

Oh. My. God.
Shit, shit shit!
FIRE!

There’s a freaking fire in my vagina!

I need to fire a cure for said ring of fire before he decides he wants to dip back into cupid’s cupboard and discovers an inhospitable environment.

All in all nice attempt but this ship has sailed a long time ago and I think I’ll stick to her paranormal romance from now on…..and more Marshall…yum!
